In honour of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, your family is invited to visit the Montreal Holocaust Museum and the Jewish Public Library for a special program.
Join us to learn more about a remarkable object known as the Heart from Auschwitz. This heart-shaped notebook was made at great risk by Zlatka Pitluk as a 20th birthday gift for Fania Fainer in Auschwitz. This small yet powerful artefact is an amazing example of solidarity, resistance, and humanity during the horrors of the Holocaust.
Participants of the program will have the opportunity to take part in the following activities:
- Hear a reading of Fania’s Heart, a children’s book by Anne Renaud about the origins of the object.
- Visit the Heart on display in the Montreal Holocaust Museum’s permanent exhibition.
- Create their own paper heart in which they can write messages of hope and solidarity.
Ages: We encourage visitors to be ages 7 and up.
Bilingual Program: The event will take place in both English and French.
Tickets: Spaces are limited, and free reservations are required through JLive.
