Dimensions in Testimony revolutionizes the concept of oral history. Each interactive survivor biography enables viewers to ask questions about their life experiences and hear responses in real-time, lifelike conversations. You can approach the display, speak directly into the microphone, and ask your question.
At 1 pm you can discover the interactive biography of Edith Maniker who was born on March 12th, 1931, in Leipzig, Germany. After Kristallnacht in November 1939, her father lost his business, and the family had to sell furniture to pay for rent and buy food. Fearing for the safety of Edith and her sister, their parents sent them to England through the Kindertransport program which saved approximately 10,000 children. Their parents did not survive the war, and the two sisters immigrated to the United States in 1947 to live with their aunt and uncle.
