To mark the anniversary of the Vel d’Hiv roundup, a painful date in the history of the Holocaust in France, join us for a virtual screening of “J’ai dessiné Drancy” by Xavier Pouvreau.

Interned at the French transit camp Drancy in July 1942,Georges Koiransky wrote and drew clandestinely about daily life in the camp to survive and escape deportation. Georges sketched scenes of day-to-day events and brutality in the camp including forced labour, searches, hunger, and deportations. Through administrative procedures and tenacity, his wife Hélène managed to have him released.
