Due to unforeseen circumstances, Niklas Frank will no longer be able to participate in our event. However, David Halton, former CBC foreign correspondent and son of the late Matthew Halton, will speak as scheduled about the legacies of their fathers, the events surrounding the Holocaust and the rise of far-right groups today.

The Legacy of our Fathers: In Conversation with David Halton

The event will offer a profound discussion and reflection about the events surrounding the Holocaust, the legacy of his father, and the current rise of the far-right.

David Halton

David Halton is a celebrated former CBC foreign correspondent and the author of Dispatches from the Front: The Life of Matthew Halton, Canada’s Voice at War, the biography of his father. Matthew Halton was sent to Berlin in 1933 and quickly became recognised as the voice of the CBC. He prophetically warned about the Nazi regime and reported from the frontlines throughout the War. He remained in Europe to cover the Nuremberg Trials.
